Time is money. Uptime makes money, and downtime costs money.

TMI's industrial process team understands that dollars are at stake with any shutdown. And even a carefully coordinated, preapproved shutdown has to be swift and efficient.

The experts at TMI know this and work closely with you on your design and installation requirements, making sure the solutions are appropriate and efficient. They prepare in advance and are ready to adapt to conditions as they arise in the field.

Whether a new system or retrofit, TMI handles small jobs or complete turnkey projects - including:

  • Compressed air systems
  • Chilled water and tower water systems
  • Silos and material conveying systems
  • Material filtration systems
  • Water filtration systems

TMI's recent industrial process projects:

Plastech, Chicago
In just three months, TMI delivered a total solution including the material handing system, process cooling system, and electrical and controls conduit at the new 200,000 square foot Plastech facility on Chicago's South Side. At this plant, which exclusively supplies injection molded parts for Ford, TMI installed six 36-foot storage silos and more than 10,000 feet of material conveying piping, both stainless steel and aluminum, to move the abrasive and non-abrasive polypropylene pellets to 28 injection mold machines. From two 250-ton cooling towers, TMI installed process cooling water piping to each machine. In addition, TMI handled the installation of the data cabling for the facility's control systems. All the work was done on a fast-track schedule to ensure Plastech would swiftly be up and running in sequence with Ford.

Acme Packaging, Riverdale, Ill.
Rather than continue to lose hundreds of thousands of dollars every year as unrecovered wastewater, Acme Packaging turned to TMI for a closed-loop central chilled water system. No longer does city water cool the equipment at this manufacturer of plastic banding then drain away. Instead, a closed system pumps captive water from a 100-ton chiller to the manufacturing equipment, then back to the tank for recooling. TMI installed the system with minimal downtime for Acme.

Kamco Plastics, Schaumburg, Ill.
For long-term client Kamco (10+years), TMI performs regular ongoing installation and maintenance. Recently TMI installed a central chiller system in one of the company's two side-by-side injection-molding plants. Realizing it could no longer simply buy material and store it in big cardboard boxes on site, Kamco also commissioned TMI with installing a material conveying system, one that includes a separate silo to store the plastic pellets and feed both plants.

Parker Plastics, Pleasant Prairie, Wis.
A regular TMI client, Parker Plastics manufactures plastic bottles such as bear-shaped honey containers and squeezable mustard jars. TMI installed a chilled water system and material conveying system as well as a high/low compressed air system that Parker utilizes in the blowmolding production of its bottles. With a 24-7 production schedule, Parker appreciates TMI's speed and expertise and 24-hour maintenance availability.
